Planning for the trip

During this eight-day trip, we will be visiting 5 cities in 3 different countries, each with a rich history. Besides visiting several companies you will have free time to do what you want; explore the city, go shopping, or party all night. During the BuCom we will be staying in hostels and meals will be provided for you, or you will get money to find your own meal.

In the early hours on the 5th of May, 04:00, BuCom 2018 will kick off! We will be taking the bus to Eindhoven Airport, from where we will fly in 2.5 hours to Riga, Latvia’s capital. Here you will have time to explore this beautiful city, by day and night. Riga is set on the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the River Daugava. It has a medieval Old Town, has many shops, restaurants, and is home to busy Livu Square, with bars and nightclubs.

From Riga, we will continue by bus first to Tallinn, Estonia’s capital, where we will be staying for 2 nights. This gives us plenty of time to explore this lively yet peaceful, absurdly photogenic, and bursting with wonderful sights city. Besides the beautiful old town, Tallinn is also major political, financial, cultural and educational center of Estonia. Often dubbed the Silicon Valley of Europe

From Tallinn, we will continue to Tartu, Estonia. Which is known for its prestigious, 17th-century University of Tartu. The old town centers on the university’s neoclassical main building, and the cafe-filled Town Hall Square, home to the Kissing Students fountain. After Tartu, we will return for a night to Riga.

After traveling north, we will continue our journey south to Lithuania! First going to Kaunas, Lithuania. Kaunas has a compact Old Town with a fascinating history. A sizeable student population provides plenty of energy, and some rough edges give it that extra bit of spice.

We will end the trip in Vilnius, Lithuania’s capital. Vilnius, the baroque beauty of the Baltic, is a city of immense allure. It combines the past with a present and future that involves world cuisine, a burgeoning nightlife, and shiny new skyscrapers.

On 12th May we will fly in 1.5 hours back from Vilnius to Eindhoven. We will be back in Enschede around 13:00.
